I finally received my biscornu and I hear it travelled quite a way (heehee). thank you Fiona for the wonderful package. This was my first exchange on TTE and was quite a treat and it was also her first biscornu made but not her last I hear. Beautiful colors and I love it. I was very happy with it all, bag, thread, bookmark and chocolates mmmm.

I popped over to check out the last biscornu received. It is just a marvel that we as a group made so many fobs and biscornu and everybody picked a different design. Every one of them are just terrific I love all the ideas I have picked up from so many great stitchers. Thank you all for sharing your little gems with us. I got my biscornu today ! It's simply beautiful !

It's stitched over one (so delicate!) and finished with small beads and a bee charm.

I got my biscornu from the Tiny Treasures exchange. It came all the way from Pokua in autumnly Australia. And autumn is also the theme of this gorgeous biscornu. I love it so much. It is beautifully finished with beads around the corners that are the same colour as the stitching....my first own biscornu. Thank you so much Pokua!!!!

A Lovely Story.....

My dearest Grandmother emigrated from Poland when she was a young girl. This beautiful Biscornu that came to me from that country is especially precious to me because of it's long journey and place of origin. Thanks so much for the Biscournu and the wonderful treasures that camne with it! Purple is one of my favorite colors and I especially appreciate the specialty stitches. Can you tell how happy you made me?

Sorry for the Delay

There is a small delay in getting the partner names emailed out to everyone for the Floss Ring Exchange due to the sudden death of a longtime friend and co-worker. Funeral arrangements and of course just coping with her loss has consumed the week. I will try to work in sending the emails out but don't know how much spare time I will have before Sunday afternoon (the memorial services will be Saturday afternoon and we are hosting a reception for her family and friends afterward) Because of the delay, I will extend our stitching time by a week so the mailing deadline will now be June 9. Again, I apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Look at this beauty!!!

This week I received from Berit this gorgeous Biscornu




She put a lot of though and work into it. She dyed the linen by herself and stitched with Satin DMC Floss. The design of the key in the back is from "The Floss Box", the "Leaf wands" on front is also a freebie that she couldn't recall at the moment. Moreover, Berit added beads to make it even prettier!!! I absolutely love it!!!

The biscornu was sent with a lovely letter that is now in my scrapbook and a thimble from Savannah, Georgia = )

Taija has received the biscornu I stitched for her. She has posted on her blog. I really enjoyed stitching this one. I love the designs from Tante Zolder. She mentions on her blog that she collects thimbles so I sent her one from South Carolina. Taija lives in Finland and said she likes M&Ms, Kool Aid and tins to finish into tin toppers. I found these tiny Altoids and purchased several. I think they will make neat needle boxes.

I enjoyed this swap and I am looking forward to the next.

Got my biscornu

The postman has just delivered my biscornu from Nicole. It is gorgeous with lots of lovely beads around the edge. Nicole stitched this without realising that I have a scissor fetish. LOL. She also sent me skeins of the colours used to stitch it all tied neatly with some ribbon, and a lovely card. Thank you so much for my biscornu, Nicole. You couldn't have picked a more perfect one to stitch for me.

I received my biscornu today from Monique S.


Monique stitched me a beautiful biscornu that's green on one side and blue on the other with little wooden matching buttons tying it all together. She also personalized it with the exchange and our locations on the blue side and can you see our initials on the green side?? Monique also included a post card, a skein of variegated floss, a piece of ribbon and fabric and the cutest little clothespin with the flower & ladybug!

I made my first biscornu to send to BW. Unfortunately her computer is down so she is unable to post any pictures, so I am posting some instead. The patterns were freebies from the Aurelle website, the thread was a varigated Anchor thread and I used Mill Hill beads. I was pleased with the way it turned out!

Biscornu Received and Biscornu Sent

I received a lovely package last Wednesday, 1 April, from Audrone with a beautiful biscornu she designed just for me! This is a close-up so you can see the delicate stitching and beads. She also included a Lithuanian cross stitching magazine, and very thoughtfully translated some key phrases.
My DD fell in love with the Egyptian chart featured on the cover, and was amazed that she could read the graph - Cross-stitching is a universal language! There are many other beautiful graphs - I can't wait to try stitching some.

A word of apology for the delay in posting - I have been laid low for the past week by a sinus infection - and the resulting headache has kept me off the computer and in bed most of the time.

Just look what a treasure I got this morning! Patti, don't worry - the package arrived safely!

I really like this gorgeous biscornu - the flowers are beutiful. And the reverse side is so interesting - I like the idea to use another fabric.

Patti also included hand-dyed fibers and ribbons. I have never tried silk, but now I have a chance! And what a wonderful Black Swan bead saver! I have never seen such thing, but I will use it - be sure.

My Biscornu Came

I just wanted to let you all see the absolutely gorgeous biscornu I received from CathyB along with the Crescent Color Threads and a lovely card. Thank you so much Cathy I really really appreciate it and love it to pieces. It's as if you read my mind and knew I loved pink and hearts and purple too and you are so much braver than me because I never would have stitched on black. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.




On the downside it still appears as if the biscornu I stitched has still not arrived. I don't know when I should start stitching a replacement. Here's hoping it arrives within the next week because if it doesn't I will definitely be stitching another.

Quick Apology to All!

I just want to quickly post an apology to all our members. I have been unavailable for the last several weeks because of work and some family matters that have required all my time and attention for the past few weeks. I had hoped everything would be resolved quickly but that has not been the case and it has dragged on longer than expected. I am now trying to go back through emails and posts to get everything up to date.
