I got my scisssor fob today, Saturday, January 31st. It's just beautiful. I can't believe how much it cost to send it. Oh my. I just got back from a cross stitch sale at the Silver Needle and Stitch Works. Didn't spend alot but had a good time with friends. I will have my husband put the picture up at another time. I'm heading out to stitch with friends in a minute, but wanted you to know I got it and I love it. Thanks barb

Quick Notes

Just a couple of quick notes:

I have been asked about sending partner's email addresses along with the mailing addresses for the exchanges. I have not done this so far for two reasons. The first reason is, I have at least one member that preferred I not share her personal email address with anyone and I respect that wish. The second is, if you email the person you are sending to, it would take away the surprise of who their partner is. What does everyone think? I am happy to provide the info if everyone agrees but I don't want to compromise anyone's privacy either.

I have also considered sending an occasional newletter or announcements by email to the group as a whole but I haven't done so yet because I'm not certain that all the email addresses wouldn't show up with the email I send. Does anyone object to taking that chance? If you would prefer I not include you on a group email list, please email me and let me know. Thanks!

Last Call for Scissors Fob Exchange

The Scissors Fob Exchange has been a lot of fun! It is wonderful to see all the great fobs that have been received so far! Has everyone mailed their fob off to their partner? I have not heard from a few of you yet. If you are unable to mail out by this coming Monday, Feb 2, please email me and let me know. If anyone has received their fob and not posted it here on the blog, please do so or email me so I can post for you. Many of our fobs are still in transit so there will be lots more to see in the next few days as they find their way to their new homes! I am so proud of all of you for making this such a great exchange group! It is a pleasure getting to know all of you through your emails and posts and encouraging comments for one another!

I got my scissor fob several days ago (limited internet, sorry for the delay) from Najima. I do not have the ability any more to post pictures, so if you have a picture, Najima, would you be willing to post it? It is beautiful, so small and dainty!! I love the idea of crocheting the hanger instead of just twisted floss, as well. My fob was sent on 1-23.

Look what beauty I got....

Well I got the most beautiful fob today, can´t believe how perfect this is;-))) It came from Mel in Dubai and she used parts of a TW design, I am admiring her designs very much but hate to stitch them...thx soooo much Mel, I love it soo much...and my DH loved the stamps because he is collecting them, he can´t believe I got mail from Dubai*lol*

I received an awesome pink on pink fob with pink scissors today. I hope it's intended as a Breast Cancer Awareness treat because that's the way I'm thinking of it. Thanks so much Bonnie, this is just an adorable design and the stitching is beautiful. I love my very first scissors fob. And it came with a really cute post card that is a magnet, how clever is that, and my fridge can use more magnets for the grandson's pictures any time!

She made a beautiful scissor fob "quaker Flower" on Lt green Lugana linen with DMC variations #4065! she attached the scissors with the protective tip, and I love the Mother of Pearl charms! not sure what she stuffed it with but would be perfect for sticking my pins in too!! thanks so much Jill! your work is Awesome!

This is late in posting but this is the fob I received from Eileen in England last week! It's so pretty with the gold cording and tassle and my very FIRST fob I have in my soon to be collection! She also added in some goodies...2 pkgs. of the new DMC scented floss (chocolate..mmmmm and strawberry...yum!)and a booklet of patterns to use also. A very nice exchange and when I got the pkg. in the mail I was surprised to see her last name and my maiden name are the same! Small world huh?? Thank you so much Eileen!

Fob Received from Amanda

Amanda's beautiful scissor fob arrived this morning! It's a strawberry shaped fob, I've been wanting one this shape but hadn't got round to making myself one so Amanda's is just perfect for me. The stitching is so tiny and precise, it's gorgeous. Also in the packet was a note card and two lengths of lovely ribbon that will be very useful to me. The amazing thing was that it only took three days to arrive here in the UK all the way from Italy. Thank you Amanda for a lovely exchange. Amanda was my partner so I hope she enjoyed receiving my fob too.

My Beautiful Fob is Here

I am so happy to be the proud owner of this beautiful fob that Estrella made for me. I simply love it. Her stitching and finishing are excellent. She chose a design in my favorite color, lavender. She added beads attached to a fluffy pompom.

It actually arrived Saturday but I missed the mail carrier and she took it back to the post office. So I had to wait all day Sunday and then Monday was Martin Luther King Day and the post office was closed.. I had to work today (Tuesday). I think I drove everyone crazy at work cause I couldn't wait to get home and open it.
She also sent me this beautiful piece of fabric that she hand dyed. It also has my favorite colors, lavender and blue. The fabric has sparkly silver flecks in it. I am going to have to choose something special to stitch with it. Thanks so much Estrella, you are an angel. Hugs, Bonnie

I have received my beautiful brandnew scissor-fob today.

I LOVE IT !!!!

BW stitched it for me and she did such a wonderful job. THANK YOU so much !

She so very carefully chose design and colour to match with my likes.

The stitching is wonderfully precise. The design is so delicate.

The design is an InkCircle and the thread is Gentle Arts, Midnight.

The stitching is done 1 over 1.

Thank you so much BW, I love this fob. I have never seen such a wonderful stitching and finishing. BW also sent me a Gentle Arts-thread. I have never had one of these. Thanks a lot.

Celtic Knot Scissor Fob

I received my beautiful celtic knot scissor fob from Candace yesterday. Candace's stitching is superb, and she has cleverly adapted a design to my favourite designer and colours. The design is an adaptation from The Gift of Stitching (Issue 24) January 2008, and Candace used my favourite colours blue and green. The design is stitched on 25 count evenweave fabric with DMC floss for the design and cording. The fob is weighted with stainless steel washers from the local hardware store. The whole package was wonderful with matching tissue paper, postcard and giftpacked needles.

The letter carrier dropped off a special envelope for me today - my Tiny Treasures Scissor Fob from Lori! It says "Home is Best" - I couldn't agree with you more! Thank you Lori!

My fob from Ellen arrived yesterday. Ellen stitched this cute design from Windy Willow. It is stitched and finished wonderfully.

Sharon, it must be the day for fob arrival b/c mine arrived today too!!! It's soooooooooo pretty! I love the colors and the silk ribbon is beautiful. I also have a surprise that Sharon sent to me and it's adorable! It's a strawberry emery or emerie (not sure of the spelling) that is made from BEA
UTIFUL silk fabrics. I was leaving town and just happened to check my mail and it was there. I don't have my camera with me this weekend but I'll be able to post the pics on Sunday night when I return home. Thank you again, both are so lovely! I know I'll enjoy them always and remember the fun I had for this exchange! I can't wait for the next one.

I received not one, but TWO wonderful fobs from Barb today. Unfortunately my scanner is acting up and I'm not able to post a picture. :( As soon as I can I will post a picture for all to see. They are so pretty! And perfect, since I use two different sets of scissors on a regular basis. :)

Arrival from Poland!

My gorgeous fob arrived today from Iza in Poland. The scan just doesn't show the exquisite work and beading she did around the edges. It also has the most wonderful scent which I believe is lavender. I am just thrilled as this truly is a Tiny Treasure.

She also sent along a lovely green light effects floss and the cutest little stamped linen bag. Pictures of the goodies are on my blog if you want to take a look.

Hi! I thought I would share this with you in case you are having difficulty translating your partners blog. I found a webpage translator on igoogle. Just go to www.igoogle.com. The box for google translate is very small but you can maximize it by clicking on the square in the upper right of the translate box. Once you maximize it, you can scroll down to the bottom of the page and there is a place to translate a webpage by typing in the URL. I hope this helps some of you - it sure is helping me in getting to "know" some of our members. :o)

My first attempt at a fob....

This is my first, well, actually the second, pathetic attempt at a scissors fob. They looked pretty easy to me, and they are, but I just happen to suck at whatever kind of stitching it is you do to close the gap when you make little pillows. You'll see in my other ornaments I finished today that they suck, too. The first little fob I tried to make was so cute - a teeny weeny little house and tree by Bent Creek, stitched one-over-one on 32-count linen. Problem number one was that I cut it too small for making into a little pillow, so when I turned it inside out some of the design was in the stitches. Second, since I'm so bad at doing the stitching, and the linen kept coming apart, I couldn't close it. Into the trash it went. Next, I stitched this little guy, from the Told in a Garden Bookmarks collection. See the uneven dent in the bottom? That's where I did my hand stitching after machine stitching the rest. Oh well. The person who receives it will also receive an explanation and the hope that she sees it as "rustic."
