A couple of days ago I received the second/first fob from Leigh (Yoyo) - she wrote about it in this post. I'm sooo happy! It's really beautiful. She also sent me a wonderful 28 ct Mushroom Lurex Lugana, which I'll be surely using for my next projects and a fantastic self-made postcard. Thank you sooo much, Yoyo!!!

Just to keep everyone here posted, I am in the middle of moving from the west coast to the east coast of Canada and will be missing from these exchanges for a little while. As I am driving across Canada with our trailer we will be a while. It makes me sad that I might miss some exchanges before xmas but alas "c'est la vie".
I have had excellent exchanges and look forward to continuing to meet and exchange with other stitchers. Thanks for your patience...vivian

First, let me apologize to the group for my long absence and silence....I DID let Sharon know what was going on, but it appears from the posts on the site that she has been AWOL as well...

Since Mid May I have been experiencing very severe migraines that have been causing episodes of seizures and passing out. I am on very strong medications that knock me out for long periods of time. When I am awake, I'm not very alert and unable to work on any cross-stitch or needlework for more than a minute or two.

On top of that, my computer crashed and my DH just got it up and running again. It needed a complete overhaul.

Ronel, I did get your very lovely Floss tag and goodies. I'm sorry I did not get on the system right away to let you know. I had intended to mail you a thank you card, but my ever so helpful daughter, threw out the envelope with your address while I was sleeping when she was doing some cleaning for me.

I just got my Floss tag in the mail today.....Normally, I would not say now who my partner is until they got the package, but because it is sooo late, I'll go ahead and spill the beans....this way, if she doesnt get it by the end of the weekend (I overnighted it), I can get started on another one for her right way!....Mine is for Lynn in MN....I think I saw on her BLOG that she will be out of town for the weekend, so it should be waiting for her when she gets home.

Again, I'm sorry.....but the migraines were not something I had planned for..

Myra sent the most beautiful floss tag. And floss! She's going to post a photo since I don't have a camera. It's a tea cup and lavender. Stitched one over one! It's absolutely gorgeous. The first one she made for me didn't arrive, so she stitched this one and sent it, I'm touched that she went to so much work for me. Thank you so much Myra. I love it!

I'm still waiting to see if the one I stitched and sent a long time ago ever arrived.

Hi all, over 20 of you have replyed either to me or on the blog, so far it seems the facebook idea isn't to popular. I have to admit I know nothing about it so can't comment on it. The one thing I like about the blog is the limit of 100 members, I don't think having more than that is a good idea, its to hard to keep a check on them all, and as we have seen on here some members have dropped out, with out even letting us know. I run a Yahoo group so have some experience of bad stitchers and lost stitching etc. One member suggeted that there should be 2 moderators, so if one drops out the other can carry on and will know all the members details etc. If we do this they will have to get on with each other and agree on how to run the group. Someone said about people being away on holiday this month so maybe we should wait till the end of the month to give them a chance to reply. Also the idea to let ech member choose what she wants to stitch may be a good idea, we could put a list on here and then you could pick what you want to stitch for your partner from the list, as some of us aren't happy doing one thing but maybe really good at another thing.
Anyway these are all just ideas, as I said about 20 have replyed but it says we can't take any more members so that could mean there are 100 members (or Sharon could have decided she didn't want any more I don't know) but I think we should wait to get more replys, I might go on some peoples blogs and leave a message there that way we could get more replys.

Hi Ladies well we don't seem to have got any further with what we are going to do with this group only a few of you are posting and the ones we want answers from aren't posting at all. Could all members post a answer as to what they would like to happen with this group? If you want you can e mail me on meat@theeyrie.fsnet.co.uk and I'll collect all the answers and let you know on this blog what we all vote to do. If you want to do another exchange let me know what it is also. Until all members answer we can't go forward with another exchange. I think its safe to say that the members who haven't answered aren't going to now.
Conny was my partner, and i never heard from her if she got my fob, did anyone receive from Conny? if no one did I'd say she ddoesn't want to be in this group, and the same goes for the other ladies who haven't answered. We can't wait forever for them to answer.
Anyway thats all I can suggest, if you all want to do another exchange e mail me, and I'll gather all the info and post it here so we can all see what we want to do.

Worth The Wait

I know some of you are aware the troubles Aury & I had with communication and postal problems. But, I must say, it was worth the wait. She stitched me this beautiful floss ring and attached a skein of gorgeous colored thread. She was very patient through the process and I feel relieved all has been worked out and SO WORTH IT! This design looks exactly like something I would have stitched for myself. I received the package last week but left to go on vacation and only returned last night. I wanted to make sure everyone got to see the work she put into it. Thanks, Aury!

Hey Ronel, by any chance have you received the package yet with the floss tag? My post office was a pain in the butt. They returned the 2nd package for more postage AFTER using their scale and they did it! GRRRRR!! I brought it into them and had them re-do it and add the extra postage (their scale wasn't calibrated correctly your package wasn't the only one i sent and had returned because of that). They apologized but i said that doesn't get it there any quicker. LOL

You should have it by now I hope.

First - I pray everything is OK with Sharon. I know you all share my concern that she is out of contact with us. If anyone hears from her, please post that you have, just to relieve our minds.

I spent some time going through all the posts tonight. I'm not posting to embarrass anyone, but out of a sincere desire to help. Please do not take offense. These are the exchanges that seem to still have difficulties:

I saw that both Aury and Renee had posted and that they are in communication with each other, so I expect that will soon be resolved. Others may have posted that they are resolving the difficulty - if I missed it, I do apologize.

The ? ? around some names are referring to members who posted that they had sent to another member, but that member has not posted that they received (please, I may have missed your post - don't be upset if you did post that you received - just correct me). Names without ? ? have posts that indicated the floss tag was received.

So, here is what I propose:

If your name is not on this list, it's because I was able to find a post that said that the floss tag you sent was received and that you had received a floss tag.

If your name is on the list and you have received a floss tag, simply leave a comment on this post, and I'll update the list.

If you have not received a floss tag, please contact me and I'll try to make sure you get one. Please include your mailing address in your e-mail to me.

If you sent a floss tag and don't know if it has been received, please post who you sent it to. I'll try to contact the member and verify that they received it.

If your name is not on this list and it should be - please contact me.

Well...
I'm still waiting on receiving my floss tag. I have no idea who my partner was so can't contact them to see if it was even mailed? Guess I'm up for whatever everyone decides to do. I love doing exchanges even tho I haven't received on 2 exchanges in the last 2 months in 2 different groups even tho I have sent my completed projects on.
I'll stay in this group and see what happens? I think one suggestion would be to designate whether you'd like to ship over seas or not. It seems there in lies much of the problems in mailings? Think about having one exchange but 2 groups for mailing IN the U.S. and those who would like to mail OUT of the U.S.? Plus shipping costs are getting so out of hand for shipping out of the U.S. as well...Just a thought?

Hi Ladies, I still havn't heard from sharon. Any ideas what we should do as most of us have got out thread fobs and so are ready for another round. could I suggest we all sign in and say wether we have our thread fobs and who hasn't received yet, then we could sort out, what needs to be restitched etc. Do you all fancy starting another exchange on our own until we hear from Sharon? we could all post what we would like to do next and then see what is the most popular idea and take it from there. I don't mean to take over, but if we don't do something about it soon this group will come to a stand still. Another idea is for some one to open up another blog, and we all move to that one until sharon is ready to run this one again. Would anyone be prepared to do that? Sorry if I come over as bossy I don't mean to, and I'm not offereing to run the blog as I'm not that good on blog sites. Anyway lets hear from you all as to what to do next

Don't I Feel Stupid!

I had a bad day yesterday and took it out on the blog. Poor Aury has been trying to contact me about the floss tag ring to send to me. This is a lesson from the good Lord to handle things differently. I feel horrible about posting on emotion and immediately sent Aury an email of apology.

Just a quickie note to say my exchanges are both received and accounted for. Thank Heavens! Sorry for ranting on the US post office service but.....seems we all still have too much trouble getting our packages? As I said it takes a lot of the fun out of things needing to redo and repay the postages especially if sending out of country.

I am still waiting on receiving my floss tag so whom ever is sending it knows it isn't here yet. Oh...I'll am patient in receiving...just NOT so patient when I know others are waiting on MINE to them! Ha!

Well I am feeling VERY bad about my partner appearantly NOT receiving her floss tag from me? I haven't heard a word? If PATTI A will let me know ASAP I will resend one to you! (Maybe I missed the notice on this blog that she recieved?)I mailed the first one right around June 9 to CANADA from MN.
As I look through blogs etc. I CANNOT believe how many pkgs. etc. get lost in the mail or are in a long delay to receive. Yet the postal service in the US anyways...feels they have good cause to keep raising postal rates for the crummy service they provide? Jeepers! It takes all the fun our of these swaps etc. As busy as our summers are none of us really have the extra time/money to redo our exchanges and then have the postal services can make money TWICE on us when we mail.Doesn't seem to matter WHEN or HOW we ship.
There! I'm kinda,sorta done venting! Grrrr!

You'll never guess what showed up in my mail box today. No, not a floss tag, I didn't participate in that one. It was a beatup-battered-been-around-the-world-twice six month old box! Remember way back in January? the scissors fob exchange? Well I made a very nice personalized fob for Iza and then

wrote her address incorrectly on the package and it got lost in the mail. TA DAH, it finally came back home today -- six months to the day after it was mailed! Iza, if you read this I am going to repost the package, but I want to get a photo of it first, just for posterity. My husband is off fishing with the camera and won't be home for two more days, but I'll get the photo and mail the package ASAP! The fob really is personalized for you and you really should have it. Oh, I'm so excited to know the package wasn't just purloined by some disgruntled postal worker. My faith has been restored, if we hold on long enough our packages will get where they are going -- even if they have to be mailed twice (LOL).

I was so excited this morning to receive my floss ring tag from Jean all the way from Singapore! Jean, I absolutely love the tag and you are so right about using the garden theme, I love the design you've used with the flower, bird and particularly the insects, I love to stitch these myself. Also in the package was some scrumptious hand dyed floss by Carrie's Creation, Desert Bloom and Peppermint. All of the floss tags are so pretty! Patti received the one I stitched for her & sent me a lovely mail earlier this week. It was the first and only tag I have ever made. I kept picking larger designs so finding the right small design was harder than I thought. I am sure I will be doing more of them so thank you Sharon for the nudge to join in the fun.

Jessica send this lovely fob long ago in the first exchange and life got crazy so I kept forgetting to post photos. It is the sweetest thing and has gotten lots of use the past few months. Thanks again!

I have received my floss tag from Lori. She stitched this cute Chocoholic tag for me. I like the chocoholic designs, they are so cute. For some reason I have been in a pink mood so I especially love it.She also sent me loads of floss that I can add to my stash. Included are some of the DMC Variegated Floss that I am using quite a bit of lately. A package of floss bobbins, a post card from Massachussets and some recipe cards (some of which I may test out) and a nice note card.

I received a lovely package from Iza yesterday(18 June 2009). In addition to an exquisite floss tag (with a butterfly!), she also included some gorgeous silk floss and a postcard. Beautiful! Here's a close-up of the floss tag, so you can see both her meticulous stitching and the amazing color variations in the floss. Thank-you, Iza, I adore the tag, and can't wait to use the floss in a special project.

Here's a quick note to let everyone know I have (finally) mailed my floss tag yesterday afternoon! As it is traveling by air mail, you can guess it's got a long way to go--The postman says 6-10 days. Better late than never, I hope!

I received a beautiful floss tag this morning from Amanda in Italy. In the envelope there was also some Anchor floss, pink ribbon, 2 beads which are beautiful colours and 2 charms. Wish I could get a better photo to show the colours of the beads, but at least the lovely colours in my floss tag show ;-) Thank you so much for a wonderful package, Amanda.

Floss Tag Arrived

I rec'd my floss tag over the weekend (we were out of town). I still need to take a pic of it, it is gorgeous! there were also extras in there, some pretty green ribbon, floss, tear drop floss cards and a chocolate bar that looked great but didn't make it. It's pretty hot here in Arizona and chocolate doesn't make it 1 minute outside. luckily everything was in separate little baggies so nothing was damaged (the floss tag most importantly).

But i couldn't read the postcard included because of the chocolate damage. I think it is from Mary J. (i know it is from Portugal but not sure on the name). Any help??

I love the package and will post a pic later of the goodies. hugs

Just to let you know that I posted my floss tag today! It's quite a relief to get it sent off as I have to confess I struggled with the finishing a bit - me and floss tags don't seem to go together. However, the end result looks nice and I hope my partner likes it. There's also another special little something in the parcel for her (sneek peak here) - hope she likes it too!

Hello, Ladies! Just a quick stop-in to let announce that a Beautiful needlework set has just arrived from Ann! Unfortunately, the sun is gone for today, and this set deserves the best pics I can get, so we shall have to wait until tomorrow for the pics. Today is my dear boyfriend's birthday weekend, so for now I just wanted to set Ann's mind at rest lest she be anxious for its safe arrival!

I received this beautiful dragonfly floss tag from Rochelle! If the design looks familiar it's because it's a design from Cross Stitch Happy. The added beads make the dragonfly shimmer just like a real one! Three skeins of DMC Pearl Cotton Variations and DMC gold tapestry needles were included in the package. Who could ask for anything more? Thanks for being my "stitchin' friend", Rochelle. I love it!
